Teacher’s Message - Chang Ko-Hsin

Congratulations on your 10th anniversary! It’s truly heartwarming to celebrate a decade of BMMA’s incredible journey — one that has brought music, kindness, and connection into so many lives.
From 2018 to 2024, I had the privilege of serving as a volunteer cello teacher with BMMA in Singapore. Now based in Taiwan, I often look back on those meaningful years, especially the time I spent with my student Leslie Lim. Over our four years together, we prepared for every performance side by side, always giving our all in those moments of focus and teamwork, supported warmly by Leslie’s mother. Those experiences remain some of my most treasured memories.
One that stays especially close to my heart is receiving Leslie’s handmade cards for Teacher’s Day and Mother’s Day — each one carefully drawn with a cello. His thoughtful gestures touched me deeply. I’ve kept them all, and they now hang on the wall of my teaching studio in Taipei as a beautiful reminder of the joy of teaching.
Another highlight was performing with the BMS Ensemble at hospitals alongside other dedicated teachers. Sharing music in those spaces was humbling and powerful — a true reflection of BMC’s spirit.
Thank you, BMMA, for everything you stand for. Your mission continues to inspire. Here’s to many more years of love, music, and meaningful impact in the community.
