Teacher’s Message - Lee Sharon So Jueng

Ten years ago, when we first started the Beautiful Mind Music Academy and told people our goal was to nurture these students into professional musicians, I was often met with glances that seemed to ask, "Is that even possible?"
The students I met through brief auditions were like uncharted territory, full of potential but with an uncertain future ahead. During their first performances, I wasn’t concerned with how well they performed; I simply hoped they would make it through without stopping. Year after year, as they grew and matured, their music moved me in ways I never imagined. Watching them on stage, I could see the effort and tears that brought them there. It’s not just the improvement in musical technique, but also the patience to endure endless practice and long waits backstage, as well as the ability to listen and collaborate with others in music. And behind the scenes, I saw the teachers and parents holding their breath, their hands folded in silent support. That sight never failed to move me. The cheers and pure joy that rang out backstage after each performance remain my favorite part of the BMMA concert experience.
Today, as I look back on the past decade, I remember every student who has been part of BMMA, along with the teachers, parents, staff, and volunteers who have given their time and hearts to this journey. Without them, BMMA would not be what it is today.
Thank you all for your continued support and dedication. Together, we have made this journey truly special and memorable.
